Join bestselling author Michael Pollan (The Omnivore’s Dilemma, Food Rules) for an evening of lively discussion about breaking down the barriers between all people and good, local food. This conversation will be moderated by John Robbins and will feature local food champions, including Jim Cochran (Swanton Berry Farm), Randall Grahm (Bonny Doon Vineyards), Dr. Wallace J. Nichols (marine biologist), Darrie Ganzhorn (Homeless Garden Project) and Jamie Smith (food services manager, Santa Cruz City Schools).

This conversation follows National Food Day, a nationwide celebration of healthy, affordable and sustainable food.

Bookshop Santa Cruz will be selling Michael Pollan’s books at the venue and the author will be signing copies of his books after the event.

There will also be a community fair outside the venue with refreshments and sponsor booths–including New Leaf Community Markets, Bonny Doon Vineyard, Communications 4 Good, and The Good Times.
