Santa Cruz High School Seniors Danielle Qing, Olivia Shull and Aaron Szasz join Soquel High School senior Clio Mykland as semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholarship program.

More than 1.4 million high school juniors take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) test every spring, fewer than one percent – the highest scoring students in each state – go on to become Semifinalists. Finalists will compete for 8,200 Merit Scholarships totaling $34 million dollars. To become one of the finalists, our seniors must have an outstanding academic record throughout their high school years, receive their principals’ recommendation, write an essay and achieve substantial SAT scores. National Merit Scholars will be named next Spring.

Go Clio, Aaron, Olivia and Danielle!
