Few transitions are met with as much anticipation and angst as the move from elementary to middle school. Seeking to ease the transition, quell the myths and support the emotional and academic needs of incoming 6th graders, Mission Hill and Branciforte Middle Schools will host several informative sessions for students and their families.
Mission Hill Middle School
Teachers, staff and student ambassadors from Mission Hill will visit Westlake Elementary 5th grade classrooms on March 11, 2008, and do the same for Bay View students on March 12th. 6th graders attending
mhmavericks_302x208.jpgBonny Doon and Pacific Schools will visit Mission Hill on March 10th. Staff and students will make a presentation, review curriculum, explain registration procedures and give students a chance to ask questions. A special evening event on March 10th at 7:00 p.m. will provide parents the opportunity to meet with the Principal, counselors and current parents to learn more about the Mission Hill Middle School program and student registration procedures.
Parents who would like to visit Mission Hill during the school day are invited to check in at Counseling Office at 9:00 a.m. each Thursday for a personal tour. Parents and students are also encouraged to attend the Mission Hill Middle School Open House on Wednesday February 20th from 6: 00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Branciforte Middle School
New parents of incoming 6th
and 7th graders are invited to Branciforte on March 13th at 7:00 p.m.b40springfestival06_2500x500.jpg The Principal, staff and student / parent panel will offer an overview of the middle school program and answer questions. Translation will be provided.

Fifth graders from DeLaveaga and Gault, as well as 7th Graders from Monarch and Happy Valley, will visit Branciforte Middle School for a special Welcome Assembly provided by the student council and 8th grade WEB leaders on March 14th during the school day. Incoming students will learn about Branciforte’s class offerings, clubs, activities, sports, and much more.
