Saturday April 30, 2011, 8 am – 12 pm
DeLaveaga Elementary School, 1145 Morrissey Blvd, Santa Cruz
On Saturday April 30th, more than 50,000 Comcast employees, family, and friends will kick-off the 10th Annual Comcast Cares Day. This is one of the nations biggest corporate volunteer initiatives. Comcast employees will be partnering with more than 300 local organizations on projects benefiting neighborhoods all across the country. More than 180,000 volunteer hours the equivalent of 86 years of service will be contributed in one incredible day. Last year more than 3,000 employees, family, and friends volunteered at 14 California schools creating safer, cleaner, and better school environments for our children to succeed and learn.
This year Comcast is targeting 17 schools in California regions, including our own DeLaveaga Elementary School. In addition to Comcast employees, family members and friends are welcome to join in the clean up and help to beautify the school! Projects include painting exterior walls, re-striping asphalt and sprucing up the Life Lab garden. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt and a complimentary breakfast and lunch.
