Public comment period still open

The City of Santa Cruz Public Works and Ecology Action, along with nationally renowned transportation planner Alta Planning and Design, have partnered to make routes to school safer for City of Santa Cruz students and families.  They invited parents, students, neighbors, and community members to share their insights and suggestions about challenges to walking and biking to school at all 10 Santa Cruz City K-12 school sites.

The effort included walking audits of each school site that resulted in an engineering and non-infrastructure project list.  The results of the audits are being discussed at each school through PTA meetings.  For a list of upcoming meetings visit the website at saferoutessc.org.  More details about the project, including school residence maps and more, may be found on the website.

Public comment on the audit and each school’s review is still open. Comments will be accepted through mid May.
