City of Santa Cruz Earth Day 2014 Classroom Project Challenge
Congratulations to Stu Branoff’s 5th grade class at Bay View Elementary and Denise Blair’s Sky Class (grades 4, 5 and 6) at Monarch School. Both schools won the prestigious “Classroom Project Challenge” sponsored by the City of Santa Cruz in honor of Earth Day 2014. Mr. Branoff’s class won the second-place designation and $200 for their project highlighting drought issues titled “Mega Drought”. Monarch won third-place and $100 for their drought awareness project also. It seems the next generation of scientists will be the ones to solve our water issues!
Thank you to the hardworking educators who teach students to grapple with and solve real world issues and for the hardworking students who care about the future of the planet and its people!
