Ecology Action is gearing up for Santa Cruz County’s Annual Bike Week, which kicks off its 27th year on May 2 and runs through May 9.

Web Banner SCFor Bike to Work and School Day, Thursday May 8, there will be 15 public breakfast sites throughout Santa Cruz County, where bike commuters can receive free breakfast, basic bike maintenance, and more. In 2013, over 1,300 commuters participated in Bike To Work Day and over 4,500 students participated in Bike to School Day. Join the thousands of cyclists for this year’s range of Bike Week activities to get inspired and incentivized to ride your bike!

Held during National Bike Month, Santa Cruz County’s premiere biking event features fun activities all week to inspire bike commuters of all levels to keep on riding. Some Bike Week highlights this year include:
May 2: First Friday at the Museum of Modern Art
May 5: Cycle & Dine
May 7: Free workshop at Epicenter Cycling at 1730 Mission St, Santa Cruz
May 9: Santa Cruz Bike Party at 703 Pacific Ave from 7-9 pm.

Bike Week is coordinated by Ecology Action and is funded by numerous local businesses, public agencies, and community groups.
